Dr. Chandru Rajam is Co-Founder & CEO-Emeritus of EduMetry Inc. He is currently Visiting Associate Professor of International Business at the George Washington University School of Business. Prior to co-founding EduMetry, Dr. Rajam served as Founding Dean of Universitas 21 Global, an online university offering graduate business education. U21 Global is a joint venture between Thomson Learning and 16 research-intensive universities from across four continents. Prior to serving as a dean, Dr. Rajam was a business school professor at the University of Colorado at Denver and at the National University of Singapore, where he taught in the areas of Strategy and International Business in the MBA and Executive MBA programs. Dr. Rajam was also Founding Director of the Asia-Pacific Executive MBA Program, the first of its kind in Asia when it began in 1997.
After full-time teaching, Dr. Rajam worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a division of The Economist Group, as Regional Director for Advisory Services. Based in Singapore, he led EIU’s Corporate Network, overseeing research and providing briefings to help heads of multinational companies understand the business environment in Asia. Earlier, while at the university, Dr. Rajam was Chairman and Moderator of BusinessWeek Executive Programs, which involved chairing and moderating CEO, CFO and CIO conferences across Asia.
Dr. Rajam has consulted and taught extensively in executive-education programs offered by Harvard Business School, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, IBM, McDonnell-Douglas, Mobil, General Motors, American President Lines, Singapore Airlines, GE, Samsung, GlaxoSmithKline, Elf Atochem and Swiss Re. While at The Economist Group, he appeared regularly on CNBC, BBC and Bloomberg.
Prior to co-founding The EduMetry Group, Dr. Rajam worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), a division of UK-based The Economist Group, as Regional Director for Advisory Services. He led EIU’s Corporate Network in Singapore, overseeing research and closed-door briefings on the business environment in Asia for regional managers of multinational companies. In this capacity, he was a regular commentator on BBC and CNBC Asia and occasionally appeared on Bloomberg TV, Channel News Asia and NDTV.
A Malaysian citizen, Chandru was born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, before he continued with secondary education in India. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM). He later received his Ph.D. in Business from the Pennsylvania State University.
Mrs. Tara Sherman is Vice President of Client Services. Since joining EduMetry in 2008, Tara has held several key leadership roles. Tara designed both the D-Cube process and the LearningDashboard tool and currently leads customer support for these services. Additionally, Tara develops marketing campaigns, maintains EduMetry’s web presence, and serves as a liaison with business partners. Tara is highly successful in building relationships with key decision makers, providing leadership in critical problem areas and delivering on commitments. Tara’s expertise has proven invaluable in helping clients establish objectives and supporting strategies.
Tara has over 10 years of experience in the consulting industry, and brings deep process design, systems development, change management, and project management skills to EduMetry. Prior to joining EduMetry, Tara worked as a Senior Manager at Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. During her time there, Tara worked with multi-million dollar custom applications, as well as packaged software implementations. Tara led several multi-disciplinary teams through the complete development life-cycle in both the federal government and commercial industries.
Tara holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Information Systems from James Madison University.
Tara brings deep technical, communication, and project management skills to the EduMetry team, providing a key driving force for a successful project.
Dr.
Ravindra Singh Bangari is Vice President of Assessment Operations.
Ravi brings considerable experience from learning and development
domains and practice to EduMetry. He has been with EduMetry from
its inception and has worked closely in developing the Company’s
assessment-of-learning services. These include developing rigorous
and scalable processes providing rich feedback on student assignments,
designing rubrics for assessment of student learning outcomes, and
drawing on assessment-data to craft recommendations for faculty
to implement (“close the loop”). His leadership responsibilities
include hiring and training, as well as organizing the work of,
EduMetry’s PhD- and Masters-qualified Knowledge Managers and Virtual
Teaching-Assistants, many of whom are experienced former faculty
themselves. Ravi provides critical intellectual and operational
support to EduMetry’s clients worldwide.
Ravi earned his MBA and “Fellow” in Business Administration (PhD) from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, one of the country’s premier business-schools. Prior to that, he served in the Indian Army’s elite Parachute Regiment. He is also a graduate of the prestigious Defence Services Staff College at Wellington (Nilgiris), where he earned the Master of Defence and Strategic studies. After sustaining an injury in a military adventure expedition, Ravi retired from the Army, went back to graduate school, before joining EduMetry as one its first employees.
Ravi has been a guest faculty at IIM Bangalore, where he taught courses on Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and on Decision-Making. He has presented papers at international conferences, including regularly at the Academy of Management, where he was selected as one of the Organizational Behavior Division’s Outstanding Reviewers of 2008. His research interests are in the areas of leadership, decision making, and learning and development.
Jeanne Rudmann Grunert serves as Vice President of Marketing. She is also the owner and founder of Seven Oaks Consulting, focusing on helping her clients acquire, retain, and create loyal customers through the power of direct and online marketing strategies. An internationally known direct marketing expert, her career spans over a decade leading marketing departments at The College Board, Teachers College Columbia University, and The Grow Network/McGraw-Hill. While at The College Board, she led the marketing for the new SAT and marketing communications programs to promote new educational opportunities for underserved students in Florida under the leadership of former Governor Jeb Bush. She has also worked in the retail and financial sectors.
Ms. Grunert’s work has been honored with three American Graphic Design Awards, including the 2007 Award for Brand Positioning and Strategy, won for her collaborative work with Integrated Marketing Services (IMS) for The Grow Network/McGraw-Hill’s sales collateral, as well as Startup Nation’s 2008 Award for Most Innovative Business for her equine art company, EquinArt Creations. She is also the recipient of the Lester Wunderman Award for Excellence in Direct Marketing and the New York University Award for Excellence in Direct Marketing.
Ms. Grunert holds a Master of Science degree (with distinction) in Direct and Interactive Marketing from New York University and a Master of Arts degree in Writing from Queens College, as well as professional certifications in Adult Education, Business Fundamentals, and Retail Management. She graduated summa cum laude from Molloy College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.
S. Ravi Shankar serves as Chief Financial Officer of EduMetry. He brings considerable experience and an extensive background in Insurance, Finance, Shipping and Maritime projects. His previously worked as Regional Director for Finance and Business Development with the Norwegian shipping giant, Wilh. Wilhelmsen ASA. During the 19-year career there, he implemented several novel business projects, merging traditional shipping with innovative, modern technical solutions.
Ravi Shankar was formerly the Finance and Operations Director for the largest ship-management company, Barber Ship Management, overseeing the technical and commercial management of over 280 ships globally. There, he implemented (for the first time globally) a planned and integrated maintenance system linked to the purchase and accounting functions through an on-board connection via satellite communication for all of the company's 280 ships sailing globally.
Ravi Shankar also has extensive experience in the (non-life) reinsurance industry and is a Fellow of the Insurance Institute of London.
He has developed and implemented many successful projects, many in the technology area. He was successful in developing an alternative mode of logistics for liquid petroleum gas (LPG) distribution; a floating terminal for ore-handling. He is one of the founding members of PostX, a leading California-based technology venture providing solutions for the encryption of e-mail.
